Everyone knows that white is the only color you can use for bath tubs, sinks and toilets these days and neutral bathroom floors and walls are the order of the day but that makes color all the more necessary when it comes to decoration and accessories.
You can add color easily to your bathroom, however, with wall paint, towels and bathroom sets so the only difficult job is choosing which color!
Green is a great color for bathrooms as it has long been associated with a feeling of cleanliness and freshness and it goes well with all the white fittings. Of course, there are several different shades of green which may suit your purposes.
The darker shades, such as moss or olive green work well in period bathrooms (the type where you feel you might come out of the room and find yourself in a stately home or mansion). These colors are wonderful if you have bathroom furniture in rich dark wood too,
If you want a contemporary look to your room, on the other hand, start with a lime green bathroom set and combine it with additional lemon yellow or red items for a bright modern feel. These colors will add warmth to your room if you feel that green is a little cold looking for your taste and all work well with white. A pile of towels alternating white with your two other colors would look splendid.
If, however, you want to emphasize the feeling of freshness in your bathroom, look towards the lighter greens such as mint. Take care that your bathroom does not feel too cold as a result. Many who choose these lighter shades of green for their room don’t realize how cool it will feel until the decoration has been completed. If you do this, don’t worry. You can always warm up any color with the addition of another. In this case you could add rose pink or lilac to add a bit of warmth to your bathroom color scheme.
